Birmingham City’s transfer stance revealed amid fresh Liverpool interest

Birmingham are set to rebuff any offers for 16-year-old Jude Bellingham despite Premier League leaders Liverpool being interested in the youngster, according to 90min.

The Championship youngster has been one of the most sought after players in the division during the current transfer window, and Blues will be hoping that they can keep hold of him once the window slams shut.

Considering his age, he’s already become a formidable part of the Birmingham first-team and has made 26 appearances for the side in all competitions this season. He can play in central-midfield or on the wing and has managed to net four times.

English giants Manchester United are said to have made a £30 million bid for the player earlier in the transfer window, which in itself shows how highly-rated Bellingham currently is amongst England’s elite.

The next few days are going to be crucial in the youngster’s future and the club must make the right decision to ensure he continues to develop.

The Verdict

He’s a very good player and it’s quite astounding seeing the price tags that are being touted about considering the age of the player.

Being just 16, he has to make sure that the decision he makes regarding his future is the correct one. Bellingham loves the club, but some of the opportunities being touted are hard to turn down.

He needs the correct people around him, because being linked with clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United will only make you focus less on your football and more on your future.

It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up in future years, but at the moment, it would be wise for the player to stay at Birmingham and keep getting first-team football.
