Birmingham City’s Jude Bellingham offers unique response to major EFL news

Birmingham City have received the news that the Championship season could well resume later this month, with June 20th earmarked as the date things could finally kick off again.

Pep Clotet’s side have been out of action since the first weekend in March, when they were beaten 3-1 at St Andrew’s by Reading FC.

There’s been a significant period since that defeat, but Birmingham now have clarity over when they might be able to return to action. Reports have confirmed that we could see a restart in under three weeks, which has been greeted by a positive reaction all over social media.

1 of 7

What was the club's first name?

Amongst those to react to the news has been Jude Bellingham, with the Blues midfielder offering his own, unique reaction to the news on Twitter:

Bellingham has been a standout performer at St Andrew’s this season, with the midfielder’s breakthrough season with Birmingham an impressive one.

In 32 appearances in the Championship, the 16-year-old has returned four goals and two assists, taking the division by storm despite his age.

Growing in stature throughout the season, Bellingham has emerged on the radar of clubs like Manchester United ahead of the summer, with Blues facing a tough few months if they want to retain their key asset.

The Verdict

Like many football fans, Bellingham is clearly delighted with the news that the season is going to resume in the coming month.

It has been a tough period for anyone who leans on football as their main source of entertainment, with the players themselves no different.

Bellingham and his Birmingham teammates will be hoping to finish the season positively.
