Josh McEachran has shared an impressive update as the Birmingham City midfielder continues to recover from a horrific knee injury.

The 27-year-old joined Blues on a free transfer back in September after a successful trial at St. Andrew's, following his release from Brentford upon the expiry of his contract at Griffin Park.

But the midfielder played only 10 games before sustaining a terrible injury in February, ending his season rather prematurely.

Which manager signed each of these 15 Birmingham players?

The former Chelsea man ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the FA Cup clash with Coventry City three months ago, and was subsequently ruled out of action for at least six months.

Of course, there has been a break from EFL action since March, giving players time to rest and recuperate and giving McEachran time to recover from his lengthy spell on the sidelines.

And now, the Blues midfielder has posted a remarkable injury update onto his Instagram story, sharing two pictures. One picture was taken three days after his surgery, whilst one was taken 12 weeks later.

Blues currently sit 16th in the Sky Bet Championship table, nine points off the play-offs ahead of the final nine games of the season, whenever they may be played.

The Verdict

Fair play to McEachran, that injury could have really set him back but he seems to be really focused and determined to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible.

It was a horrific injury he sustained, but the knee looks to have recovered really well and he will be hoping for more positive results in the coming weeks or months.

He will undoubtedly be a key player for Pep Clotet's side when he returns to first-team action.
