Garry Monk is preparing for his first summer transfer window in-charge of Birmingham City, having successfully guided the Blues to safety in the Sky Bet Championship.

A difficult year ended on a high, with Birmingham recording a 3-1 victory over Fulham on the final day of the season, securing their place in the Championship.

It was another season of flirting with relegation, but improved results under Monk have given Birmingham’s supporters the belief that their club can challenge higher up the table next year.

Monk will of course be looking to strengthen his squad in the summer transfer window, but will also be looking to clear out some of the squad he has inherited at St Andrew’s.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Monk’s squad, identifying THREE players we are expecting to see Birmingham receive a tidy transfer fee for, should they depart St Andrew’s in the summer…

Kuszczak has been No.2 at St Andrew’s to David Stockdale this season and that isn’t expected to change next season.

The ex-Man United goalkeeper still has plenty to offer and would be a good addition for most across the Championship, either as a first or second choice.

The 36-year-old could still demand a tidy fee this summer.

Roberts arrived at St Andrew’s with the hope of starting regularly, but that hasn’t been the case, particularly under Monk.

The former Barnsley captain is still a capable Championship defender, but could well be on the move in the summer and looking for first-team guarantees.

Should he depart, Birmingham will expect a decent fee.

Stewart has spent the season away from St Andrew’s on-loan with Aberdeen.

The 28-year-old hasn’t been prolific since his move, but will still pull in a tidy fee, should Birmingham move him on permanently this summer.
