Birmingham City are interested in signing Alexandre Pato, according to Calciomercato.
Blues bolstered their attacking options in the summer, bringing in Jonathan Leko from West Bromwich Albion and re-signing Scott Hogan from Aston Villa.
Aitor Karanka’s side have only scored three goals in their first seven league games, though, therefore further attacking reinforcements may well be needed going forward.

According to Calciomercato, Blues are among a host of clubs interested in signing former AC Milan and Brazil man Alexandre Pato.
Pato – who scored 10 goals in 27 caps for Brazil – is mostly known for his time in Milan, scoring 63 goals in 150 appearances for the Serie A side.
The 31-year-old is currently on the lookout for a new club, though, having been recently let go by Sao Paulo.
Pato is available to sign on a free transfer, then, with Birmingham, Genoa, Spezia and Monza all reportedly interested in signing the striker.
It is claimed that Pato would be willing to take a pay cut in order to find a new club, however it remains to be seen whether Blues are able to pull off such a move.
This would be some coup.
Pato was a world-class centre-forward back in his prime, scoring so many goals for an impressive Milan side and for Brazil.
I do worry about whether he is fit enough and good enough to make the drop down to Birmingham, though.
You do wonder whether he will be willing to join Blues, too, with Serie A clubs said to be after him.
