Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett has admitted that Nottingham Forest central midfielder Robert Tesche is among his list of summer targets, although he does concede that other areas of his squad may be strengthened first.
According to the Birmingham Mail, the Blues boss wants to sign the German midfielder who will be available on a free transfer in the summer and was present as he played for the Reds in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Tesche is reportedly one of Forest’s highest earners and with uncertainty surrounding the managerial situation at the City Ground, the midfielder may look to get himself sorted in preparation for the 2016/17 campaign.
The former Hamburg man can play in a number of midfield roles and is familiar with St. Andrews having made 12 appearances for the Blues during the 2014/15 campaign, scoring two goals for the club in the process.
The Blues have improved drastically this season in Rowett’s first full campaign, with supporters hoping to challenge for the play-offs next time around.
