With the clock ticking down on the January transfer window, time is running out for Birmingham City to get their business done.

The Blues have yet to make a signing during the current market, and with Aitor Karanka's side in a somewhat precarious position in the table, that might be something they are keen to address.

As a result, it may not be a surprise if we do see some more business down around St Andrew's between now and the close of the market in little more than a week's time.

Here, we've taken a look at the latest transfer news to have emerged from around Birmingham over the course of the past few days.

Dan Crowley seals Hull loan move

Having struggled for game time at Birmingham this season, Dan Crowley has now secured his opportunity to enjoy more regular football for the remainder of the season.

It was announced on Monday that the attacking midfielder has joined League One promotion chasers Hull City on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old, whose contract at Birmingham expires this summer, has already made his debut for the Tigers, coming off the bench as a 66th minutes substitute in their 3-0 win over Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.

Seven of these 18 statements about Aitor Karanka are fake. Can you identify which?

Alex Pritchard targeted

With Crowley gone, there is a space open for another attacking midfielder in Birmingham's squad, and it seems the Blues have already identified a potential candidate to fill that role.

According to the latest reports from The Telegraph, the Midlands club are interested in a move for Huddersfield's Alex Pritchard, who has started just five league games for the Terriers this season, and is out of contract at The John Smith's Stadium this summer.

However, Birmingham are not alone with their interest in Pritchard, with fellow Championship sides Bristol City, Derby and QPR also said to be keen on a move for the 27-year-old.

Jayden Reid seals fresh League Two loan move

Another Birmingham player who has secured a loan move away from the St Andrew's in Jayden Reid, with the striker joining Walsall for the remainder of the campaign.

The 19-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan with the Saddlers' League Two rivals Barrow, making 12 appearances in all competitions for last season's National League champions.

He will however, spend the next few months until the end of the season with Walsall - who sit 12th in the League Two table, four points off the play-offs - with Karanka said to be keen for Reid - whose contract also expires this summer - to play more regular first-team football.
