Championship side Birmingham City are lining up a move for ex-Norwich City defender Ryan Bennett, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Bennett was told that his contract with Norwich City will not be renewed this summer after the Canaries failed to reach the Premier League, and Birmingham are now set rival Premier League-bound Brighton and Hove Albion for his signature.
The Blues will be looking for additions at the back this summer, with the future of defender Paul Robinson still up in the air, leaving them with two viable options at centre back – Michael Morrison and Ryan Shotton.
Birmingham faced a scary brush with relegation this season and will hope to move away from possible League One football and back to pushing towards the play-offs next year.
The club go into an enormous summer after a turbulent season, which saw a change of ownership and a number of managerial changes result in the Blues sliding from play-off contenders to relegation candidates.
