Former West Bromwich Albion defender Liam Ridgewell is a target for his old club Birmingham City.
The defender was released from Premier League side West Brom earlier on this week along with four others after three seasons at the club.
The 29-year old joined Albion in 2011 from Birmingham City around £2 million and has since then gone on to make 76 appearances whilst scoring twice in this three year stay.Unfortunately for him his stay at the club was plagued by injuries.
Now it seems following his release he is set to sign for Birmingham on a free transfer. The defender is likely to sign a two to three-year deal at the club if he does sign for the club.
If he does sign for Birmingham it will signal his second stint at the club having previously played at St. Andrews for five years prior to his Premier League move.
He is though a target for various other Championship clubs and competition for his signature seems to be heating up.
