Dinamo Zagreb forward Mario Gavranovic is believed to be considering an offer from Birmingham City as Pep Clotet looks to strengthen his squad this month.

The 30-year-old has been a key figure for the Croatian champions over the years and he weighed in with nine goals as they won the title last season. However, he hasn't been as influential this term, hitting three in 15 league appearances.

And, it appears as though a move could be in the pipeline, with reports from Croatia suggesting that Gavranovic has told key figures at his current club that he wants a few days to think about an offer on the table from Blues.

Whilst the details of the offer aren't clear, the West Midlands outfit have been linked with a move for the forward for some time now and Clotet is desperate to add extra firepower to the team.

A 1-1 draw against Cardiff on Saturday made it one win in eight in the league for Birmingham and reinforcements are needed to help the side moving forward.

The verdict

This is promising for Blues as on paper it appears as though Gavranovic would be a very good signing.

The Swiss international, who is expected to go to Euro 2020, is a versatile forward and has shown in his career that he can score goals.

He isn't the regular for Dinamo Zagreb that he once was, so the chance to get more minutes and try a new challenge in England may appeal and he would certainly improve this Birmingham side that are struggling for goals.
