Birmingham City are still hopeful of securing the services of winger Robert Tesche on a permanent deal after the German spent last season on loan from Nottingham Forest, reports Vital Football.
Blues boss Gary Rowett has made it known that signing Tesche permanently is a priority this summer as he looks to build his squad for the upcoming season.
Tesche played yesterday in a pre-season game for Forest as boss Dougie Freedman is casting an eye over all of his squad including Tesche, who he stated to the Nottingham Post back in March that he still has a future at the club and that his loan spell was only a short-term measure to give him some first-team football.
The two clubs are expected to hold talks when the Blues return from their training camp in Marbella, but the wages of Tesche, which stand at £30,000-a-week, could be a stumbling block in the deal if the player is not prepared to take a cut to secure a permanent move to Birmingham.
