Birmingham City right-back Maxime Colin has offered his thoughts on the Blues' win away to Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

Pep Clotet's side ran-out 1-0 winners at the Valley, picking up their fourth win of the season in the process, and whilst Colin was happy with the win, he was clearly keen to keep a level head.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "Still a long way to go but 3 good points away from home. Fans were brilliant! Let’s Keep Right On."

The right-back played the entire 90 minutes for the fourth time this season as he continues to establish himself as one of the club's most valuable assets.

But it was rising start Jude Bellingham who once again stole the show at The Valley.

Having popped up to score the winner against Stoke City at St. Andrew's before the international break to win all three points, he did the same again here.

Arriving in the penalty area seven minutes into the second half, the 16-year-old was perfectly placed to sweep home Kevin Mrabti's pull back.

It is a win that takes them up into eighth place with a clash with Preston North End next on the list for the Blues.

The verdict

I am sure Colin is delighted with the win, but managing expectations can never be a bad thing.

Birmingham have made fast starts to seasons before, only to fall away, so accepting that and learning how to maintain this form is surely the way to go.

That being said, it would be hard to blame the travelling fans who have just seen a 16-year-old academy graduate bag the winner from getting rather excited.
