Birmingham City are among a host of Sky Bet Championship clubs interested in signing former Leeds United captain Rodolph Austin, following speculation since his release from the troubled club, according to FLW sources.
Many fans of Leeds United were shocked after it was announced that the defensive midfielder had been let go by the West Yorkshire club, and it seems that he will stay in the Championship next season.
FLW understands that Birmingham City are among the frontrunners to go for the 29-year-old midfielder.
However, there has been no official word from any club regarding the surrounding speculation of Austin’s next club, but he sure will not be short of offers this summer.
If Gary Rowett’s side do go ahead and bring Austin into the club, it could lead to further speculation that former loan star Robert Tesche will not be heading back to the West Midlands club, and that he will be staying with Nottingham Forest for the 2015-2016 Sky Bet Championship campaign.
