Birmingham City under 13’s player Logan Kehoe has sadly passed away in the last few days, the club have confirmed.
The centre half unfortunately died last Saturday whilst he was on holiday with his family in Lanzarote. The cause of the young player’s death is believed to be accidental drowning.
Kehoe played for the Junior Blues under 13’s and during his time with the club he quickly became a popular member of the group, and he was also regarded as one of the most important ones.
Over the years, Birmingham City have produced some fantastic youth players such Nathan Redmond, Jack Butland and current first team star Demarai Gray so naturally the club are very saddened to hear about the loss of one of their future stars.
Community Trust director, Dean Holtham spoke to the Blues official site and had this to say of the devastating news: “This has hit us all for six. Logan was a really, really nice lad. He was no trouble, always there to help you out and always there for his team mates.”
The Junior Blues currently play in the Junior Premier League and are run by the Birmingham City Community Trust.
The Trust director added: “His family are lovely as well and all our thoughts are with them at this terrible time.”
The club issued a statement to say that they echo Dean’s sentiments and that they offer their ‘sincere condolences to the family and friends of Logan.’
It is understood that the club will show some form of respect for Logan against Blackburn Rovers in tonight’s Sky Bet Championship game.
Everyone at FLW would also like to offer our sincere condolences to family and friends of Logan.
