Birmingham City have confirmed that recent signing Jeremie Bela has received international clearance and he can now feature against Fulham this weekend.

Blues announced the signing of the 26-year-old on a free transfer yesterday, with the attacker agreeing a three-year deal at St. Andrew's with the option of a further year.

And, he could be in line for a full debut on Saturday, with the club sending out a message on Twitter this afternoon that explained he will be available for selection now all the formalities have gone through.

Boss Pep Clotet had revealed earlier in the day that the former Dijon man had been training with the west Midlands outfit for the past few weeks and would be in the right condition to feature if allowed.

However, it seems unlikely that Bela will start as he hasn't played competitively following a contract dispute with Albacete over the past few months.

The quick forward starred for the Spanish side last season though, scoring 11 goals as they reached the play-offs in La Liga 2.

The verdict

This is great news for Birmingham as you can tell that Clotet and the coaching staff have high hopes for Bela and he will look to make a positive impression immediately.

As mentioned, he is unlikely to start given his lack of competitive minutes but he should get an outing from the bench.

It will be interesting to see how he copes but the fact he has been with the squad over the past few weeks means he knows the players and that could help him settle quicker.
