Birmingham City will refuse to sell David Cotterill this summer, according to Vital Football, amid reported interest from Reading.

Reading are looking at bolstering their midfield options and have focused their attention on David Cotterill. The departures of loanees Lucas Piazon and Ola John leave Reading short in wide areas and Cotterill fits the bill as an experienced winger at this level.

But with the Wales midfielder readying himself for Euro 2016 in France, Gary Rowett is back home insisting that Cotterill is not for sale. The 28-year-old is a key part of Birmingham's set-up and Rowett does not want him to leave St. Andrew's.

Cotterill joined Birmingham in 2014 and has since made 71 appearances, scoring 13 goals. He was part of the team that narrowly escaped relegation to League One with late drama on the final day of the season.

It is thought that Reading will now look elsewhere for their man.

Birmingham fans - what do you think? Are you happy to retain your star players?
