Birmingham City want to sign Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The young Liverpool starlet is once again expected to be on the move this summer following successful spells with Coventry City and then Barnsley last season.

His performances for Barnsley in-particular last time out caught the eye, and although Jurgen Klopp has been impressed with the winger, he sees another loan spell in the Championship as key to Kent's development.

New Blues manager Harry Redknapp is thought to be an admirer of Kent, and wants to land the 20-year-old on a loan deal for the season as he looks to reshape his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Kent can play on either wing and is a bundle of energy on either side, being able to beat his man and create chances for his teammates. It is this style of play which has caught Redkapp's eye, with the former West Ham and Spurs gaffer keen for his side to add more goals to their play next term.

Birmingham survived relegation on the final day last season, and the Blues faithful will be hoping to avoid a repeat situation again this time round.
