Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City are said to be interested in striker James Wilson, who currently plays for Premier League side Manchester United, according to ESPN.
Manager Gary Rowett says a loan move for the 20-year-old is likely, who has been linked with several clubs throughout the summer as his future at Old Trafford is uncertain. Despite the keen interest for James Wilson, Rowett is determined to win the race for the forward.
Wilson spent the 2015/16 campaign on-loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring five goals for the Seagulls who missed out on promotion to the top-flight after losing to Sheffield Wednesday in the Play-Off semi-finals.
Birmingham City started the season with a goalless draw at home to Cardiff City on Saturday and in an interview after the game, Rowett stated: “I admit that I am trying to bring in two players that will give us a bit more quality and win us games in the final third. We certainly need to improve in that area.”
