Garry Monk has done an outstanding job with Birmingham City so far this season by getting them into a position where they can challenge for promotion.

They were tipped to be in a relegation struggle before the campaign began, and with a transfer embargo preventing them spending any money in the summer, you could understand why.

But, Monk has galvanised the entire club and completely renewed the crucial bond between the team and its fans.

Their newfound ability to find the net has been the driving force behind this upswing in form and specifically the partnership between Lukasz Jutkiewicz and Che Adams.

The pair have scored 17 league goals between them this season and when you consider the club as a whole have only scored 23, their importance is magnified.

But, with Jutkiewicz quickly approaching 30, he is much less appealing to other clubs. Adams, on the other hand, is only 22, so his league form will no doubt be catching the eye of other clubs.

His hat-trick against Hull City at the weekend dragged the Blues to a crucial point in a 3-3 draw at St. Andrew's.

Two goals against Leeds United at Elland Road earned them their first win of the season, so his importance cannot be underestimated.

Considering he only averages one shot per game, his clinical nature in front of goal cannot be doubted either.

The worry now for Birmingham City and their fans will be that the club may be unable to hang on to Adams if offers flood in during the January transfer window.

As previously mentioned, the Blues are hardly in the strongest financial position, so any large offer will be hard to turn down.
