Birmingham City looking to seal more deadline day deals as club submit enquiry

According to reports from West London Sport, Championship club Birmingham City have enquired to Brentford about the availability of right-back Maxime Colin.

Colin’s future at the club was called into question when Brentford signed new right-back Henrik Dalsgaard at the beginning of the transfer window.

The 25-year-old would become the third Brentford player to join Birmingham this summer if he was to join, following former teammates Harlee Dean and Jota.

Colin played a key role in Brentford’s tenth place finish last season where he made 38 league appearances, scoring four goals, and providing two assists.

Redknapp has already had an extremely busy summer transfer window having brought in 12 new players already as he looks to bolster his squad for the season ahead.

Should the deal go through, the Frenchman will find himself competing for places with the likes of Emilio Nsue and Arsenal loanee Carl Jenkinson.

The Verdict

Brentford won’t have a squad to go into the new season if Harry Redknapp gets his way!

Colin isn’t necessarily a standout player in the Brentford side but he does his job and he does it well.

Adding another right-back to his squad will do well in adding depth going into a long Championship season.

Now it’s just a matter of whether Brentford will sell.
