on

Birmingham City have been a side that have gradually begun to creep up the Championship table over the last few weeks, losing only once in their last five outings and sealing wins over the likes of Swansea, Middlesbrough and Bristol City.

Lee Bowyer has finally found a solution to his goalscoring problems and has managed to get the team firing their way up the league (with the exception of their last result against Reading).

Off the field though, there has also been a lot of ongoings for the Blues in terms of transfer deals, injury issues and player exits.

What then, is the latest for Birmingham City?

What year did Ivan Sunjic sign for Birmingham?

Dion Sanderson exit on the cards in January

Dion Sanderson has managed to feature fairly regularly for Birmingham so far this season, so it will be a blow for the side to hear that he could be on his way back to Wolves when the winter window opens its doors as reported by Birmingham Live.

The defender has looked decent when given the chance to shine for the Blues – and that makes it even more of a loss for Lee Bowyer if Wolves do decide to recall him.

Although not a mainstay in the team, he is certainly a valuable option for the club to have in their squad. They will therefore be hoping that an agreement can be reached to keep him beyond January – but it looks as though a return to his parent club may actually be on the cards.

Bowyer hopeful of fresh deal for Man United’s Tahith Chong

Tahith Chong was being thrown into the starting eleven on a regular basis with Birmingham during his loan spell and was proving to be quite the exciting talent for them.

However, after suffering an injury with the Blues, he has had his short-term stay with the club cut short and is now back at Old Trafford with Man United while he tries to rehabilitate and get back to full match fitness.

Blues’ boss Lee Bowyer is understandably distraught to have lost the player until the turn of the year – but, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, he is hopeful that a deal can be reached when he is back to full health to take him back to the Championship side.

With the player potentially able to get back into action within the winter transfer window, a deal could certainly be agreed. The fans will certainly be hoping that something can be arranged.

Jordan Graham back in action for Birmingham

The final piece of news on Birmingham is a positive one for the Blues.

As reported by Birmingham Live, they could soon have Jordan Graham back in their plans. The 26-year-old may not be a first-team regular but he has certainly proven to be a solid option if they need to turn to him.

To have him sidelined then has been a loss to Lee Bowyer but the good news is that he could soon be thrown back into the fold with Birmingham.

After being sidelined through injury, it looks like he may finally be able to be back in the squad again. The player looked solid for Gillingham in 2020/21 and if he can replicate that kind of form for the Blues a league higher, than he could be a valuable option upon his return to the team from the sidelines.
