Birmingham City join Wolves in chase for prolific 23-year-old striker

Championship sides Birmingham City, Huddersfield Town, Wolves and Preston North End are interested in signing Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw, according to the Yorkshire Post.

The 23-year-old signed for Walsall for £50,000 following Shrewsbury’s relegation to League Two and went on to score 20 goals in his first season at the club and in has managed 12 so far in this campaign.

He impressed in the Capital One Cup this year with a hat-trick against Nottingham Forest to see his side win 4-3 over the Championship side.

He saw interest from Reading on transfer deadline day last summer, but no offer ever came through. He’s now facing interest from a number of Championship sides looking to add goals to their season.

Birmingham’s Clayton Donaldson is struggling for goals and fitness this year and the Blues could use more goals to boost their play-off push. After selling star man Demarai Gray, Gary Rowett will be desperate to reinvest some funds into his squad.

Unlike Birmingham, Wolves, Huddersfield and Preston currently find themselves out of touching distance from the play-offs, but Wolves will be hoping that they can mount a push in the second half of the campaign.

The Saddlers currently find themselves third in League One, just two points behind second-placed Gillingham Town with a game in hand over Justin Edinburgh’s side.
