Birmingham City and Garry Monk are interested in signing experienced goalkeeper Boaz Myhill, according to a report in the Hull Daily Mail.

Myhill has been released by West Brom but has remained in training with the Baggies, and it appears now that Blues manager Garry Monk is keen on adding Myhill to his squad at St Andrews, despite already have Stockdale and Kuzszcak fighting it out for the number one jersey.

The experienced Myhill has been a key member of the squad at the Hawthorns for a number of seasons now and played deputy to Ben Foster with aplomb, drawing plenty of praise last season when Foster missed a big chunk of the campaign through injury.

However, with Foster and Myhill both being allowed to leave by Albion manager Darren Moore, Myhill needs a new club, and could well be tempted to make the short move across the Midlands to Birmingham.

It's been a relatively quiet transfer period for both the Blues and the Baggies, but both have high hopes going into the new season that they can make a success of it.

Myhill made his name with Hull City, making over 200 appearances for the Tigers before moving to West Brom. He has previously had a loan spell with Birmingham back in the 2011/12 campaign.

Birmingham fans, what do you think? Would welcome Myhill back? Let us know in the comments!
