Birmingham City hit with double injury setback ahead of biggest game of the season

Birmingham City are currently preparing for their biggest game of the season without a doubt.

Since being dragged into a relegation battle, they have struggled to pick up wins which would take them clear of the drop zone.

This weekend they face the division’s whipping boys: Rotherham United.

With Rotherham earning just 17 points from 41 games, having a minus 58 goal difference, with just 4 wins all season and on a run of ten successive defeats, Birmingham City simply cannot afford anything less than three points to avoid getting dragged further into a relegation battle.

However, Gianfranco Zola has confirmed that they will be missing two players for this clash.

Striker Clayton Donaldson has suffered another injury setback – this time he has injured his knee in training.

Zola confirmed that the extent is not yet known but that it is a ligament problem and they will assess it soon.

And versatile defender Josh Cogley will also be unavailable after reporting an ankle problem.

Birmingham fans – are you disappointed by this news? Will you miss these two players? Let us know in the comments below…
