Birmingham City fans should be slightly concerned as striker’s exit appears to move closer

It has been somewhat or a rollercoaster season for Birmingham City as we rapidly roll towards the end of it.

Before a ball was kicked, Garry Monk’s side were tipped to be involved in a relegation scrap, but come January, it was clear that would not be the case as they began to push for the play-offs.

However, off-field issues caught up with them in March as they were ruled to have violated Financial Fair Play rules and were docked nine points as a result.

But a win against Leeds United and a point against Sheffield United ensured that relegation is not likely to be their destiny this season, and they can now start to look ahead to the summer.

And one of their first deals could well be a sale, with striker Greg Stewart reportedly set to move to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, according to the Evening Times.

With other potential sales likely to happen, however, how should the fans feel about this deal?

Stewart has never shone since joining Birmingham, but the St Andrew’s faithful should look at this deal with an element of scepticism.

Che Adams has had a wonderful season but as a result is surely highly likely  to be sold when a sizeable offer from a Premier League side comes in.

That will leave them with just Lukasz Jutkiewicz and Isaac Vassell to lead the line.

It is far from a disaster but it shows how the sail of the Scot could be slightly premature.
