Paul Robinson has signed a new one-year deal at Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City, the club have confirmed.
The former West Bromwich Albion defender arrived at St. Andrews on an initial short-term deal back in 2013, after he was not awarded a new deal from Bolton Wanderers.
The 36-year-old captain has made 119 appearances in total, although he has not figured regularly this season.
During his time at St. Andrews, he has managed to establish himself as a key member on the field as a skipper and also behind the scenes.
The defender has signed on the dotted line to continue as a player and coach in the club’s under-18 and under-21 setups.
Blues manager Gary Rowett added on the club’s official website that Robinson has a lot to offer and he would not be playing 30-40 games for the club, but he would be extremely important overall.
Birmingham will play Bolton Wanderers in the last game of the Sky Bet Championship campaign on Saturday.
The Midlands outfit are currently placed in 11th spot, in what has turned out to be a relatively good season for the club.
