Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has insisted that his sought-after Demarai Gray remains committed to the club, despite increasing speculations linking him with a move to Leicester City.

The 19-year-old travelled with the squad to MK Dons ahead of Saturday’s game, and Rowett said he has no concerns over the winger’s future.

"We know that speculation is going to get hotter and hotter as the transfer window closes’’, Rowett told the club website. ‘’We have got four or five days and it's impossible to predict everything that's going to happen’’.

"But, at the moment - there has obviously been lots of interest - Demarai has always said the same to me.

"He's happy here, he signed a new contract in the summer, and he’s enjoying his football’’.

The Premier League club have reportedly triggered a buy-out clause in the winger’s contract, and were prepared to complete a deal said to be in the region of £5 million.

The Blues have insisted that no club have met the player’s valuation, even though they refused to deny that they were ready to listen to any offers.

However, it is still unsure whether the England under-20 winger will want to leave St Andrew’s, where he signed a new contract in July and established himself as a regular.

Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri remained coy on the speculations and said that his club will be considering all options.

The pacey wide man has started every game in the Sky Bet Championship this season so far, and is expected to be an integral part of the team should he remain a Birmingham player beyond September 1.
