Sheffield United are celebrating their return to the Premier League, with Chris Wilder’s squad confirming their place back at the top table of English football over the weekend.

Heading into the weekend the Blades needed to better Leeds United’s result to clinch the top-two, with Wilder overseeing a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday evening.

Leeds then only managed a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, which has left the Whites facing the lottery of the play-offs whilst the Blades celebrate.

And, skipper and boyhood Blade, Billy Sharp, has taken to Twitter to issue an emotionally passionate message following that promotion:

Sharp has been key for Wilder during his time at Bramall Lane, with this season no different.

Leading from the front, the 33-year-old has struck 23 goals and registered a further three assists, inspiring his teammates to an unfancied promotion alongside Norwich City.

Attention will soon turn to next weekend’s final game in the Championship, with Sheffield United looking to overhaul the Canaries at the top of the table and clinch the title.

Currently, Norwich need just a point against Aston Villa, whilst Sheffield United travel to Stoke.

Sharp is so passionate about the Blades and you can imagine that this promotion means absolutely everything to him.

He’s a boyhood fan and has enjoyed a fantastic season, leading from the front and proving to be one of Wilder’s key men right from the start.

Now, he will be itching to get the title at Stoke next weekend.
