Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp was under no illusions that Leeds goalkeeper Kiko Casilla deserved to see red during the Blades' 1-0 win at Leeds yesterday.

Sharp was through on goal following another defensive mistake and looked set to make it 2-0 to seal a memorable win for the Blades. However, former Madrid stopper Casilla charged out of his goal to bring Sharp down and saw a straight red card come his way as a result.

And while Leeds players and fans might argue that there was cover on the way, Sharp insisted the outcome was the right one.

"Everybody knows I would have scored. He took me out and I had to go down. I’d rather have stayed on my feet and scored but he made a decision to bring me down.” Sharp told Sky Sports via a report in the Yorkshire Post.

Sharp put in a fine second half display of centre forward play, where he harassed and fought his way into the game after seeing hardly any of the ball during the first half.

Indeed, it was Sharp who laid on the winning goal for Chris Wilder's men, after getting the better of Liam Cooper and squaring the ball to Chris Basham to fire into the bottom corner to seal an impressive win for the Blades.

The Verdict

He's bang on to be fair, isn't he?

Sharp gets round Casilla here, he scores and seals a win for the Blades in more emphatic fashion.

However, given they held on anyway, Casilla being suspended for three games could well assist the Blades even more.
