West Brom manager Slaven Bilic cannot help but be encouraged by his side's unbeaten start to the season, with the Baggies currently sixth in the Championship, just three points off early season leaders Leeds United.

One player though who has struggled to get a look-in this season under Bilic is 20-year-old defender Dara O'Shea, who has only made one appearance so far this season.

With O'Shea seemingly on the periphery of the Baggies first-team right now, should West Brom look to loan out O'Shea in the January transfer window to get him some valuable first-team minutes?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"I think so.

"He's a good young player and showed that out on loan last season but he needs to be given the chance to build on that.

"It doesn't look as though he's going to get the immediate chance to do that at West Brom now and so I would let him move out on loan and get more minutes.

"Then, when he comes back, he should be more prepared to challenge for a spot in Slaven Bilic's side."

Josh Cole

"Bilic has to consider it.

“Although there is no doubting that O’Shea is blessed with an abundance of talent, it may be a wise decision by Bilic to allow him to make a temporary exit from the Hawthorns in January.

“With the likes of Kyle Bartley, Ahmed Hegazi and Semi Ajayi currently ahead of him in the pecking order, the defender is unlikely to play on regular basis for West Brom this season.

“Therefore, in order to keep O’Shea’s development on track, the Baggies should consider loaning him out to a lower league side who can guarantee first-team football.

“Having impressed at Mansfield last season, there is no reason why the defender cannot benefit from another brief spell away from West Brom and thus return to the club as a much more accomplished player.”

Is this the WORST West Brom XI from the last 10 years? Let us know what YOU think....

George Brooks

"Possibly. O'Shea is a good player and he could have a big future ahead of him at West Brom.

"Bilic has shown that he's prepared to give young players a chance, but O'Shea doesn't have a great deal of experience in the Championship.

"He's been named on the bench for West Brom for every Championship game so far and he probably isn't going to get too many opportunities to start games in defence this season, especially when Ahmed Hegazi returns from injury.

"Sending him out on loan would allow him to experience regular first-team football, which is key for his development.

"He did reasonably well on loan at Exeter last season and I wouldn't be surprised to see West Brom send him out again in January."
