After being courted by several clubs this summer, Matt Crooks has a new home in the Championship and it is with Neil Warnock's Middlesbrough.

As first reported by Football League World earlier this week, Crooks agreed to a move to Teesside after the Millers accepted a bid for his services - thought to be in the region of £1.1 million but it could rise to £1.6 million with add-ons included in the deal.

The 27-year-old scored six times for Rotherham in the Championship last season and there was a real battle for his services, with Ipswich Town having bids rejected for the in-demand man earlier in the month.

Rotherham didn't particularly want to sell to a League One rival and in the end it was a Championship outfit who won the race for Crooks' signature, meaning that he cannot come back to haunt the Yorkshire side next season.

A versatile midfielder, Crooks has mainly featured in the number 10 role for Rotherham in recent times and that is where he's been acquired to play for Boro, with Warnock believing that he can contribute to between 10 and 15 goals a season.

The deal has been in the works for the best part of a week and Boro fans are now seemingly delighted that it has finally been confirmed.
