Portsmouth’s Checkatrade Trophy final opponents have been confirmed after last night’s semi-final between Bristol Rovers and Sunderland.

The showpiece final at Wembley at the end of the month will see the south coast side battle it out with Sunderland after they booked their place at the national stadium.

Jack Ross’ men overcame the Gas 2-0 just a week after Kenny Jackett’s side humbled League Two Bury 3-0 on the road.

It’s a final between two of the high-fliers in League One and one that will undoubtedly garner a lot of interest.

After Sunderland’s triumph, Portsmouth tweeted confirmation of the tie to be played on March 31.

The two teams are side by side in the table, with three points separating them.

And with both outfits gunning for promotion, they will now look to add some silverware to their collection along the way.

With that said. Here’s how the Pompey supporters reacted to the news that they will play Sunderland in the final of the Checkatrade Trophy.
