Samuel Saiz is edging ever-closer to the Elland Road exit door, as he looks set to jet out to Getafe in the next 24 hours, according to reports from Marca.

This latest news will certainly come as a surprise as it was only reported yesterday that the Spanish club were eyeing a move for the Leeds playmaker according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Saiz is said to be unsettled at Leeds due to his current playing time, and there are rumours that his wife is wanting a return to Spain in the near future.

Marca has also reported that Saiz could potentially watch Getafe's game against Real Sociedad on Saturday, as his move accelerates at a rapid rate.

The Spanish publication also claim that the 27-year-old could be set to have a medical with the club in the next coming days, as he aims to have the move all but completed before the January transfer window reopens.

Saiz has fallen down the pecking order at Elland Road this season, and he has struggled to replicate the excellent form he had shown with Leeds last season.

The Spaniard is yet to score for the Whites this season, with many Leeds supporters questioning his place in the team as a result.

He has been at the club for 18 months now, but with over two years left on his contract, he seemingly sees this as the perfect time to leave the Championship club.

Leeds will be hoping that they can focus with matters on the pitch when they take on Bolton Wanderers at the weekend, as they look to return to the top of the table heading towards the New Year.

The Verdict:

This is a real blow for Leeds United.

Saiz may not have been in his best form this season but he could have played a crucial role in their promotion push under Marcelo Bielsa.

I wouldn't have expected the move to move this quickly, as it was only reported yesterday that he was eyeing  move away from the Whites.

It's the best move for both parties involved, otherwise Leeds will have an unhappy player at the club who could potentially disrupt the atmosphere if he stuck around for the remainder of the season.
