Evidently ambitious in the early stages of this transfer window, it is set to be a big couple of months for Hull City as Shota Arveladze looks to assemble a squad that is able to compete at the top end of the Championship

Acun Ilicali's takeover of the second tier outfit has helped raise expectations around the MKM Stadium, with excitement levels also growing.

One player that the Tigers have been linked with is Fulham's Jean Michael Seri, with the midfielder coming to the end of his current deal at Craven Cottage.

Assessing what Seri's signature would mean for Hull, Carlton Palmer told FLW: "Yeah, its massive if they're able to get in.

"But obviously, with the new owners coming in, we know they've got money, so you know, they can pay the salaries.

"So it'll be a big statement of of intent of what they're looking to do in the future.

"But, there's a lot of interest in him."

The verdict

Seri would be a strong addition at most Championship clubs, and as Palmer says, it would be huge sign of intent as Hull look to hit new levels next season.

Of course, being a player with so much quality, he will continue to attract interest from elsewhere, but with the direction that Hull appear to be heading in, it could be a favourable destination.

It remains to be seen how successful Hull will be in this transfer window, however, they do appear to be heading in the right direction, that is if they can convert these rumours into confirmed deals.

Possessing top of the Championship ability, Seri's technical skill and intelligence will be a massive boost to a midfield that needs addressing if they are to challenge nearer the top end of the division.
