Sheffield Wednesday have received a major boost ahead of their trip to Bolton Wanderers tomorrow with the news that three influential players are back in the squad.

Journalist Jonathan Buchan, who works for BBC Radio Sheffield tweeted that Jack Hunt, Glenn Loovens and Sam Hutchinson are all available for the game against the bottom of the table Trotters, whilst Kieran Westwood is fighting to be fit.

That will be great news for Carlos Carvalhal and Owls fans who are looking for their side to put a consistent run together as they aim to close the gap on the top six.

Hutchinson returning will be significant for Wednesday, with his tenacious style and determination making him a key reason for the success the team have had over the years.

The former Chelsea man has only played 81 minutes of Championship football this season after he limped off early into the second game of the season against QPR.

Experienced centre-back Glenn Loovens was also forced off early in that game and he is sure to be an assuring presence in a back four that have uncharacteristically conceded sloppy goals in recent games.

Meanwhile, right-back Hunt was forced off in the 3-0 win against Leeds last time out but that doesn't appear to have been serious.

The Verdict

This is great news for Wednesday fans who know their team needs to kick on and show consistency if they are to challenge near the top.

All four players, including Westwood, are key men and it has to be remembered that Wednesday have been without Loovens and Hutchinson for most the season.

Now it's over to the players to prove their importance and help the team put together a positive sequence of results.
