Derby County have not had a good season so far and the latest portion of games before the international break finished on a sour note as Barnsley beat them in the Championship 2-0 on Saturday.
Certainly, Phillip Cocu appears to be on borrowed time at the moment, with speculation rife around him and fans far from pleased with how he has been doing, whilst the prospect of new owners could well change things up as well.
With that in mind, Ryan Conway has also shared the fact that very few players are contracted at the club for long and, therefore, we could see quite the change to the squad in the coming seasons.
Man, Derby's squad could see an insane amount of turnover in the next two years. Only seven players contracted past 2022:

Naturally, Rams fans reacted to this and were largely positive in seeing that a lot of the players on that list are arguably their best assets at the moment.
Let’s take a look at what has been said with that in mind…
Yep. Big positive for me. We carried players on long contracts for long enough and given Cocu is a deal man walking it gives the inevitable new man an almost clear run to do as they please as well (within reason)

Think MTW will come good tbh, looked good against bournemouth, it just takes a while to adapt to such a drastic change in style of play when coming from Holland to the championship.

That's good for the new manager coming in . Won't have to have players he doesn't want for long .

Rather this than a huge list of average players on massive wages we can't get rid of for 4 years

At least they're all good (ok, jury still out on MTW)

Good job we've got a sack full of money going around baggage claim at East Midlands then 😉🤞

Is that unusual though? Good job it’s all good young players that can build value, apart from MTW
