Charlton Athletic have had a bit of a tough Christmas period with results not really going their way in League One.

The men from The Valley had looked like play-off contenders but a slump in form has seen them drop down to ninth place in the division.

Of course, though, with a game in hand the fans will feel as though they can turn things around quickly enough to still mount a play-off charge this season and it looks as though they have been handed news most will be happy with.

Indeed, as per the Addicks' Twitter account, Katrien Meire is set to step down as the CEO of the club:

It's pretty well documented that the fans of the League One side have been unhappy with the way that the club has been run in recent years.

There's been plenty of protests around that fact, too, and so many who have expressed their discontent might see this as a win for them.

Of course, on field matters are where the wins matter most, but The Valley might seem a little more positive a place after this if the fans are happier.

The Verdict

It's been tough at Charlton in recent years.

It would be silly to ignore the disharmony between many of the fans and those that run the club and so for the supporters this is something that they will be largely happy with seeing.
