The domestic action is almost back for another week and Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two continue to rumble on.

Though a handful of games have been postponed due to international call-ups, there is still plenty to look forward to across the two tiers.

That in mind, then, we caught up with James Richards of D3D4Football to take a closer look at some of the potential key talking points ahead of things kicking off...

There has been a few managerial casualties this week in League One and League Two. Which sides, if any, can you see particularly benefitting from such calls?

Potentially everyone. In a strange twist of fate that saw Paul Hurst sacked by Ipswich, John Askey sacked by Shrewsbury and Mark Yates sacked by Macclesfield we could see Askey and Hurst return to their old clubs, something that would definitely please the fans.

All in all, there may be some pretty good outcomes for everyone but don’t expect them all to be able to wave a magic wand and change the fortunes of their new teams immediately, some definitely need more time than others.

On the pitch, one of the standout games in League One sees Accrington host Barnsley – how do you see that playing out?

Barnsley have made Oakwell a formidable home so far this season, unbeaten in the eight matches played there so far. Accrington have adapted to the higher level with an ease that suggests they are a well-oiled machine.

John Coleman knows how to get the best from his players and the simplicity in which they take teams apart is a credit to what he has built. Stanley come into this game with no new injury problems but you would expect them to struggle against a side with as much quality as the Tykes.

They are missing Kenny Dougall but still have a midfield that boasts Cameron McGeehan, George Moncur, Alex Mowatt, and Brad Potts. No side has a better centre in League One.

Scunthorpe, meanwhile, head to Bristol Rovers. With the Iron’s poor form in mind would a loss here start to ramp up the pressure on Stuart McCall?

There is no way a defeat to an improving Rovers should put Stuart McCall under pressure. The ex-Bradford boss has not even had a transfer window with which to stamp his own identity on the team.

However, this is football and common sense is often a rarer commodity in this sport than any other so you never know. What Iron fans will have been impressed by is the character shown to fight-back from 3-0 against Oxford to take a point. They now need to focus on tightening up at the back to end the six game winless run.

In League Two, in-form Northampton travel to Exeter City. Would a win for the Cobblers establish them as genuine play-off contenders?

With the quality in the Cobblers squad they really should be considered play-off contenders regardless, however, the mentality of this team has been questionable at best.

Keith Curle was able to arrest the slide of a Carlisle team that was in a similar position when he took over and it appears he has had the same transformative effect on Northampton since joining.

They take on Exeter at a time when the Grecians have had a mini blip of their own and will be looking to get back to winnings ways after four games without one. They have only lost twice at St. James Park all season so Curle might look to match up and play a slightly more attritional style to cope.

Top seven contenders Newport and Colchester also meet this weekend – how do you see that one going?

Michael Flynn has overseen a brilliant transformation during his tenure in South Wales. The former player has instilled a never say die attitude that has made the Exiles better than the sum of their parts.

However, they are taking on a Colchester team that have been excellent this season after brining in some experience over the summer including ex-Newport star Frank Nouble.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one end all square but if I had to lay my hat on either side it would be on Colchester to grab the points.

Finally, Macclesfield face the unenviable task of heading to MK Dons. Can you make any case for the Silkmen to get a result from this one?

The chances of the Silkmen getting a result at Stadium MK are about as likely as John Askey not becoming the new Macclesfield manager.

Milton Keynes have been one of the standout performers in recent weeks finally finding their scoring touch after Tisdale chose to build from the back in the early part of the season.

They would be my choice as the side most likely to challenge Lincoln City for the title and have great depth to call upon unlike their opponents.

Macclesfield need to appoint a new manager quickly if they are to prevent themselves being cut further adrift and bringing Askey back makes sense for all parties. He knows the club better than anyone and got them promoted playing an attractive style of football. Getting Malachi Napa on the ball as often as possible is the Silkmen’s best bet for success but even then I can’t see them getting a result here.
