Despite seeing their side suffer a 3-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup last night by Portsmouth, plenty of Birmingham City fans have taken to Twitter to laud Jude Bellingham for his performance against Kenny Jackett's side.

The forward became the youngest player to represent the Blues in the club's 144-year history at Fratton Park and demonstrated real signs of promise throughout the clash.

Far from being daunted about the prospect of making his senior debut, Bellingham was assured whilst in possession of the ball and illustrated a real eye for a pass, linking up well with summer signing Dan Crowley.

Whereas chances were few and far between for the forward, he would have undoubtedly taken confidence from how is his first outing for the Blues panned out.

Referring to the game on Twitter, Bellingham said: "Disappointing result last night but delighted to have made my professional debut for the club I’ve supported growing up.

"Big thanks to everyone who sent me a message and the travelling fans.

"Hopefully many more to come."

Reacting to the forward's message on Twitter, plenty of Birmingham fans praised him for his efforts in their club's loss to Pompey.
