Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Danny Fox on a permanent deal, with the defender ending a five-year spell with Nottingham Forest.

Paul Cook’s side are in a precarious position in the Championship at this stage, with the Latics looking nervously over their shoulders, with a relegation battle looming.

Last night, Wigan announced the arrival of Fox, who has agreed a permanent contract at the DW Stadium.

In doing that, the 32-year-old has ended a long association with Forest, having made over 125 appearances for the Reds since 2014.

Fox is capable of playing at either left-back or centre-back, with the latter position where he excelled for Forest and helped become a cult-hero in Nottingham.

After confirmation of his arrival at Wigan, there was a strong reaction to the transfer news.
