Sheffield Wednesday picked up a much-needed win last weekend away to Ipswich Town in  Steve Bruce's first match in charge and he will be looking to put together a run of results.

This weekend sees them welcome Reading to Hillsborough as they look to push further away from the foot of the table and maybe piece together a play-off push.

But Bruce has also been revealing some long-term ambitions for the Owls squad, saying that he intends to significantly trim down their hefty first-team roster.

Wednesday currently boast a squad of 36 players but the former Aston Villa boss wants one no bigger than 24 players and will look to implement that over the summer.

A host of first-team squad members are set to be out of contract at the end of the season including George Boyd, Keiran Lee, Gary Hooper and Kieren Westwood.

It is a move that provoked quite the reaction from the fans...
