Martin O’Neill’s side fell behind within five minutes when Colin Quaner slotted past Costel Pantilimon from close range, but went in level after Jon Nolan turned into his own net on the half-hour mark.

But considering the Tractor Boys sit rock bottom of the league, it is a bitterly disappointing result and one that leaves the Reds slumped in 11th place.

After such a notably expensive summer transfer window, many fans will wanted a top-six finish at the very least.
