Aston Villa have fans have some vested interest in the World Cup this year, with a number of their players set to turn out and represent the club on the biggest of all stages.

One such player who has already taken to the field today is midfielder Mile Jedinak, who put in a superb performance for Australia despite seeing his team go down 2-1 to a late Paul Pogba goal.

Jedinak gave Villa fans something extra to shout about when he stepped up and tucked away a penatly to cancel out the French opener in the second half, with the Villa man coolly slotting into the bottom right hand corner to bring the Socceroos level.

However, it was not to be for the midfield general, although he can be proud in defeat and know he drew praise from his club's fans back home.

The Villa fans will always be quick to give their opinions on Twitter these days, and this was no different, as plenty of Villa fans had their say on Jedinak's showing today.

Here at FLW, we took a look at just what was being said about the Villa man's performance this afternoon...
