Jay-Roy Grot is set to return to Leeds United after a loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem, with his Elland Road future looking uncertain.

The 22-year-old has failed to make an impact at Elland Road since being brought to the club by Thomas Christiansen in 2017.

The Dutchman has scored one goal in a total of 23 appearances for Leeds, and has failed to make an appearance under Marcelo Bielsa.

Over the last two years, Grot has spent time away from Leeds on loan, spending last season at VVV Venlo, and this year he has spent time with Vitesse Arnhem.

The striker has scored twice in 22 games for Vitesse, but after the Eredivisie campaign was concluded not too long ago, he is now set to return to Leeds as he continues to recover from injury.

Speaking to De Gelderlander, Grot said: "As it stands, I am starting the new season in England. With the pre-season at Leeds. And after that? Let’s see. For the time being, there is no football at all."

Members of the 'All Leeds Aren't We!' group on Facebook have been discussing Grot's future at Elland Road, and here's what they had to say...

Stephen Clark: Emphatically YES!!!! Give him a chance, what’s to lose?

Danny Moran: Loan him to a championship team when we go up, let him adapt to English football that way

Jake Maliarose Ashley: Bielsa would turn him into an absolute beast

Stuart Gatenby: If Bielsa wants him back that’s good enough for me

Justin Rushfirth: Not the long term answer , but could do a job for the squad. We were short strikers this year through injury

Phil Bainbridge: I would he could be a totally different player now. Bielsa could make him or break him

Subegh Singh: I think he has potential. That is why Bielsa sent him on loan rather than getting rid. If he reaches that potential he will be an absolute beast.
