When Marcelo Bielsa was revealed as Leeds United's new manager it was hailed as one of the greatest managerial appointments in Championship history.

Here they had a man with a wealth of experience managing at the very top of the game and is surely destined to bring success to Leeds United.

His arrival finally backed up the ambition touted by the club's owners and early transfer talk also mirrored this.

The Whites were strongly linked with the likes of Matej Vydra, David Stockdale, Abel Hernandez and Kyle Bartley to name just a few.

But now it appears that none of these deals are going to go through, leading to a few fans and onlookers to question how long Bielsa will be at Leeds?

He famously left Lazio after just two days after clashing with the board over their transfer dealings and some Leeds fans are worried the same could happen again.

So will Bielsa last more than 12 months at Elland Road?

We discuss.

Alfie Burns

A lot depends on what happens between now and the end of the transfer window.

Bielsa isn’t going to be impressed by the lack of signings at Elland Road, which is something that needs to change.

If the 62-year-old gets what he wants, I think he will last, but right now, 12 months feels a long way away.

Jay Williams

This completely depends on how he gets on. Given Leeds' track record, if he does not bring immediate success, then he will be axed.

But perhaps this is one they should persevere with, seen as it may take quite a while for him to get his unorthodox methods across and use them to good effect in the Championship.

Gary Hutchinson

That depends on whether he wins football matches or not!

The plan will be for him to remain there longer the 12 months, but if they lose games and look in danger then history tells us they'll soon be moving him on.

I can't see him being fired myself.

Chris Gallagher

Who knows!

The way it's going, I'd say no though. He won't be patient at Leeds, he'll want to challenge for promotion immediately and if he's not suitably backed then Bielsa will walk, as he's shown before.

Louie Chander

I am going to say no, but it will be of his own accord.

If they continue to fail in their pursuit of players then he will easily lose patience. A repeat of this in January could be the final straw.
