Marcelo Bielsa has a real selection dilemma heading into Leeds’ game against West Brom on Friday evening.

A number of the Leeds squad are not performing to the standard required and they need to step up as quickly as possible, otherwise their promotion bid will take a real hit.

The Whites are currently sat 3rd in the Championship table, and a poor run of form has seen them drop out of the top two for the time being.

Leeds weren't clinical enough in front of goal against QPR in midweek, as they slipped to a shock 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road.

But one positive for Leeds supporters on the night was seeing Izzy Brown make his long-awaited first-team debut for the club.

Brown has had his fair share of injury problems since arriving on loan from Chelsea in the summer, and was a late substitute in the defeat on Tuesday.

But with the attacking midfielder building up his match fitness and showing promising signs, he’s going to be providing Bielsa with a selection headache.

It’s a crucial game for Leeds on Friday night, against a West Brom side that will have their own promotion ambitions this season.

So Bielsa will need to get his team selection spot on, and if he doesn’t, then it could cost them at Elland Road tomorrow.

If you put yourself in Bielsa’s shoes, it’s a tough decision to make, but I would be starting Brown for this one.

The youngster has a point to prove after a lengthy injury spell on the sidelines, and could provide the creative spark that Leeds have lacked since Samuel Saiz’ departure earlier this season.

You need your best players playing in season-defining games this season, and Brown is certainly one of them.

It’s a no brainer, and Bielsa should be looking to play Brown in behind Patrick Bamford, as the pair can take the game to a West Brom team that look frail at the back at times.

It’s a make or break game at this stage of the season, and if Brown starts, he could be the missing piece in the promotion jigsaw for Leeds.
