The relationship between Leeds United and Derby County has soured over the course of this season, with the ‘Spygate’ controversy central to that.  

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa admitted to spying on the Derby training ground ahead of their clash in mid-January, which the Whites went on to win 2-0, with the club eventually fined £200k following the incident.

And, that’s been the catalyst for months of poking fun at each other across social media.

Recently, it has become apparent that Mel Morris, Derby’s owner, is looking for a sale, with the Times reporting that he could accept just £1 for the club if the buyer takes on the debt at Pride Park.

It’s a significant update from a Derby perspective, with it clear that Morris is looking for a route out of Pride Park after years of investment.
