Kyle Bartley was a man mountain for Leeds United during the 2016/17 campaign, as Garry Monk’s side pushed for play-off football after years of mid-table struggles.

Leeds ultimately missed out on the top-six and finished seventh, but Bartley left Elland Road on the back of a seriously impressive loan spell.

In 50 appearances across all competitions, Bartley scored six goals and forged an excellent partnership at centre-back with Swedish international, Pontus Jansson.

Quiz: Have Leeds United done these 15 things in the last 10 years? – Yes or no?

Despite the fans wanting to see him return for the 2017/18 campaign, a move never materialised, and three years on from his last Leeds appearance, both parties have moved on.

Bartley, 28, is part of the West Brom squad that are battling Leeds for automatic promotion in the Championship.

For Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa has them playing a slick brand of passing football, with Ben White and Liam Cooper at the heart of the defence; well suited to Bielsa’s style.

Recently, debate has spilled onto Twitter regarding Bartley and whether Leeds fans would be open to reuniting with the centre-back if the opportunity ever presented itself.

Despite his heroics in 16/17, many aren’t convinced he’s a ‘Bielsa-type’ of defender or if he is, indeed, good enough for the Premier League.

We take a look at that fierce debate…
