Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has heaped praise on Manchester City and their manager, Pep Guardiola, after they secured their second consecutive Premier League title, reports Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post

A 4-1 win away to Brighton and Hove Albion was enough to edge them over the line in a tightly fought title run-in with Liverpool and Bielsa has called the way they play beyond even his comprehension.

"When I see it I'm wondering 'what's the method? What do we have to repeat to do that?" He told his pre-match press conference on Monday.

Guardiola took his side to the south-coast knowing that win would guarantee them the top-flight title and they did that comfortably, despite falling behind in the first half.

Goals from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan were more than enough to secure the top prize.

Bielsa remains in the hunt for silverware with Leeds and is in the midst of preparing them for their play-off second leg with Derby County on Wednesday.

The verdict

This is typical Bielsa.

Constantly analysing, constantly looking to learn. Despite being the person who taught Pep Guardiola a good deal of what he knows, he has enough humility to admit that he could now learn from him.

And it would not be a surprise at all if he tries to implement more of that style on Leeds next season.
