Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has been assessing his side's League Cup opposition, Salford City, ahead of their Tuesday night clash, reports Lee Sobot of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

During his pre-match press conference, Bielsa praised the Greater Manchester club for their style of play as he looks for his side to bounce back from a disappointing weekend result.

"They have strong characteristics of the typical British style of play," he told his pre-match press conference.

"For example, big strikers and big defenders too.

"But at the same time they are a modern team, dynamic."

Salford were promoted from the conference to League Two last season after just one season in the fifth-tier of English football as they continue to march onwards and upwards, bankrolled by a host of Manchester United legends.

Saturday saw the Whites frustratingly held to a draw by Nottingham Forest at Elland Road with many believing that it was a match they should have won.

Pablo Hernandez gave Bielsa's side a second-half lead but a freak goal from Lewis Grabban meant the points were shared with Sabri Lamouchi's Reds.

The verdict

This will be an interesting clash and do not be too surprised to see an upset.

Bielsa is more than likely going to rest a host of his first choice players. As much as he will want to see a response to Saturday's draw he will also want to focus on their league performance.

Salford will be keen to show what they can do with the TV cameras at the Peninsula Stadium as well so do not rule out a shock.
